Flickr at Facebook

Yay! I finally went Pro at Flickr. As you know, I was having second thoughts. Then I found out that Facebook have these Flickr plugins, which got me interested to hook it with my Flickr. But when I finally tried it, I didn’t like it much.

One advantage that I see is you can actually control its privacy. Like, you can show anyone on Facebook all your private Flickr photos (yes, even private ones, you can choose whether to show photos for friends only, or for family only or both). On the same manner, you can choose to show only your Facebook friends your Flickr photos, private or not.

My initial setting was show my Facebook friends my Flickr photos for friends only (excluding photos for family). Ok, I was satisfied from there. It’s also cool that when you click it, it would go to a page very similar to the Facebook Photos tab.

What I didn’t like about it is that I can’t create a new tab for the photos. Aaaaw. Wouldn’t it be just cool to have a “Flickr Photos” tab side by side with the Photos tab? :P It ended up as another box on my sidebar, which just adds up to the profile mess.

In the end, I deleted the application from my profile. I just continued browsing for affordable tv stands online. Hubby was eyeing one at the mall this afternoon. I just thought I might find something more reasonably priced over the net.

pc upgrade

Hubby is planning to upgrade our desktop computer. I was surprised of this plan since the PC has 500GB hard disk. But his defense was the memory isn’t enough as he always download movies and TV series from the internet. Plus my digital kits are taking a big chunk of the space too. So after attending mass this morning, we went to the mall to do some windowshopping. As he looked for the 1 terabyte hard disk replacement, I went on checking for 1 terabyte EHD but can’t find any. Instead, I thought it would be nice to buy a 17-inch Rackmount lcd that I saw to replace our old 17” bulky monitor.

Hmm, I wonder if a big memory and a kick-ass monitor are just what I need to get my scrapping mojos back into the groove. :)

learning the basics

The other day, Litz taught me about aperture, shutter speed and ISO, using layman’s terms which made it easier for me to remember. I wrote down notes on my Starbucks planner. Anyway, today, I spent time practicing and had fun.

I also edited my old photos. I figure I’m still a beginner and I need as much photo editing as I can do. I think I’m ready to share photos soon. :)

yummy shakes

A friend was chatting with my husband last night then suddenly remember how fit hubby was about 4 years ago. He started asking hubby how he was able to lose the flab and buffed up. This friend was talking about some years ago when hubby was still actively working out in the gym four times a week. The husband shared that when buffing up, high protein diets are helpful. Our friend commented he doesn’t like the taste of PROTEIN SHAKES.

My husband suggested the natural protein powder that comes in vanilla and chocolate flavors. These are said to be the best tasting with natural Whey Isolate protein. And while you’re at the site, check out different protein shake recipes! Now that’s healthy and yummy!

not uploading photos for a month =P

Just the other day, I posted over at one forum asking how I could possible take pictures without editing it using Photoshop. I envy those people who posts over at Flickr with properties public and no software used on the photo meta. Anyway, I uploaded to my backup flickr account two photos, one unedited and another, the edited version. I searched for industrial clamps online while waiting for the experts to answer.

Bad idea. There were helpful answers but what stuck to my mind was one comment. The one who replied seemed to be polite and didn’t mean to be sarcastic but it definitely flushed every bit of my confidence down the drain.

“…you should be using what is called a point and shoot camera… There’s no shame in it…”

I swear I’m not mad at this person. He meant well and was sincere. I just felt foolish, that’s all. Because yes, I want to use a DSLR, without reading the manual and yet, I want everything to be easy as using a P&S.

Camping = fun!

This coming weekend will be our team building. We usually spend it over at Canyon Woods but for fun, somebody suggested camping this time. The first impression of people upon learning that we are going camping instead is that we are cost-cutting. Partly yes, but the real reason behind is we feel that camping will bring us closer. With camping, everyone can be together at the campground, ideal for large number of people.

I read that gettysburg camping can be so much fun, it is so close to the Gettysburg battlefield. You can go hiking, or swimming during the day if you want. Then gathering in front of a campfire (yes, they are allowed) at night. What’s more, the pa rv camping have internet access, perfect for teams like ours who have members working for 24/7 support. That’s also one of the criteria that we always check in choosing a campsite or resort. Tent camping is also offered at the resort. This rv camping Gettysburg sounds amazing! Hurry, check it out now!
