letting go of my “dream” party.
As early as December last year, I’ve been planning the baptismal party of our baby boy. I know this is against the superstition that moms should only start planning baptism or buying baby stuff on the 7th month.
At first I would have wanted to hold it during my daughter’s 5th birthday party. I’ve thought about their two separate cakes and personalized kids gifts for the guests. I was excited about even the littlest details.
But when I checked the (“growing”) budget sheet, I knew it’s not possible. Not only that, I could give birth later in June which means our baby will be too young for a July 10 party. Some things you just have to accept for a good night sleep.
Besides, I asked my daughter and she preferred just a simple party at school just like we did for the last two years.
