last two weeks

It’s less than 15 days before the new year comes, leaving me less time to plan the budget for January (we usually do the family planning mid January or first week of February). Anyway, at least I have a list of cheap auto insurance, and other subscriptions that we renew annually.

Anyway, I got two more weeks of vacation. The vomiting has lessened sometimes none even in a day, although I still feel light-headed and sleepy most of the day. But I think I can go back to work in January just like everyone else.

Almost everyone was complimenting my new hair. I noticed though that from the time I had my hair cut short, I had pimples on my forehead, and quite oddly, on my nape. On the forehead, I am not surprised as the hair kept falling on my forehead which I will brush up with my hand. But on the nape? That’s new.

So now, application of best acne product has been added to my nightly regimen. The big pimple on my nape was probably caused by frequent brushing that stop short on my shoulder. Plus about two to three inches above the tip of the hair was cut thin. Think layered.

I am in a lookout for a nice but inexpensive laptop bag. I’d want it to be made of leather but since I prefer it to be inexpensive, I’d settle for synthetic leather. Think of cheaper version of red vanilla laptop bags.

I actually found quite a few over at multiply but can’t seem to decide on what color I should order. I want something that would match the small bags that I use (for wallet, vanity items, ID cards, etc) to office, and at the same time, match my ugg boots on Fridays, our “jeans” days. So it’s a toss among white, black and brown.

Today, we met up with our “weekend” friends (also known as our pizza night friends or taco night friends), and the husband showed his new 1 terabyte EHD. He pulled it off from a box, and then, a wire that looks like a vga cable but is not.

It was actually big but looks very durable. The type of hard drive that would sit beside your laptop or desktop stationed on your home office, not really the type of portable EHD, like mine (500 gb only) which I carry on my purse all the time. Yes, I carry my EHD everywhere. You see, I have my work files, pictures and scrapkits stored in there. I even have a portable Photoshop. Then why don’t I scrap more? I have no idea.

We are now starting our Christmas list and I just noticed that the husband listed more nfl t shirts than I expected. Not complaining as I have more vanity kits on my list this year. Hahahaha. Vanity kit is just a code for anything that women would love. I sure hope a shirt that he listed is also a code for anything that men would love.

Now that we’re almost done with our list, I sure hope the budget starts rolling in.

excited for trick or treat

I am excited for Mikee’s halloween costume. I sure hope it gets delivered before trick or treat in the office. I still haven’t figured out what she’d wear for shoes or where we’d buy them. But just last week, friends have been planning our yearly Christmas party. As always, we are scheduling it in November since December weekends are usually booked for balikbayan meet-ups and family gatherings. It could be a halloween – christmas party in one. I bet the moms would have a blast buying their adult halloween costumes.

Anyway, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my little girl won’t suddenly change her mind what to wear this halloween. Although I think she’s all psyched up to pose for photos wearing her costume.

We love to travel. We love taking advantage of seat sales in one of the leading airlines in the country. I guess they’re leading because of the too many seat sales they have. Anyway, I noticed that many young professionals take advantage of the sale because aside from having your leaves scheduled early, the rates are just too tempting, leaving one enough money for lodging and more fun activities.

I sometimes envy a former classmate who owns (together with her husband) an RV. They travel every two weekends to different places. She said they always make sure they have 5th wheel warranty so they are always covered anytime they go. It’s fun to travel around but sure to have somewhere to eat and rest. Not to mention you can bring all the food and clothes you want to.

Now that’s convenient fun.

I’m not sure why but I have this impression that young celebrities think it’s cool to be junkies. It’s just like they’ve worked for that money they’d spent on their recovery or so called aftercare. There are even alternatives now and non 12 step programs.

Sometimes you wonder if it would be better to be famous or to be just a simple teenager whose only worry is what to wear to her next date. I’d rather have a simple daughter with simple wishes. All I care is she’d be happy. I just hope it wouldn’t be much “trouble” to keep her happy.

I was browsing some websites on financing, and suddenly got confused between asset based lending and bank financing. As I see it, the latter is much ideal to businesses who would like to maximize their borrowing capacity using receivables and inventory as collateral. I realized I shouldn’t be worrying about this as the business I’m thinking of is just a small one. But who knows, after a year or two, it would be successful enough to reach an impressive sales volume.

Ideally, it would be something I’d enjoy but I think the target market is too few in numbers. It could end up being just a craze but like any fad, consumers would soon jump into the next big thing.

So it’s either something I love or something that’s a sure-fire cash magnet.

I’ve never seen real gold bars in my life. All I know is they are great investment products. They can be passed on from one generation to another. I was told that investing in gold is like preserving one’s wealth and purchasing power. It’s the same with jewelry collection, just bigger amounts of gold.

I remember when I was younger seeing those gold bars in the movies, mostly about discovering them in a hidden cave. I even thought as a youngster I could possibly find one in our backyard. My siblings and I use that same storyline during playtime. We imagined finding one, and buying lots of cuddly toys and stationeries. Ah, the simple joys of a child.
