Minus points for Artscow

Earlier today, while I was browsing to compare dental insurance quotes, I was told that a package for me has arrived but I need to pay for something. I saw that I need to pay Fedex a thousand pesos for custom stamps, taxes and storage fee.

This is frustrating as I ordered my photobooks and chose regular airmail for shipping, but got the Fedex shipping service. If via airmail, I will just have to pay 35 pesos for each photobook at the post office. I never heard of any complaint or bad review on Artscow about shipping before so I didn’t expect this. Or maybe I wasn’t just reading their forum often enough.

It may be a generous(?) gesture by Artscow to upgrade the shipping to Fedex but instead, this made my experience unsatisfactory. So just today when someone asked me at Facebook about Artscow, I’m no longer sure if I should still recommend them.

If I’ll be shelling out that much money for Fedex shipping, I might just as well order my photobooks from a local store like Digiprint or some other printing shop that’s just starting up. Tsk tsk.

bringing kids to Balai Isabel

During the planning stage of our team outing, I told the organizers I’ll skip it because I was afraid the travel will be too tiring for the pregnant me. However, just the day before the actual trip, I was informed that two moms are bringing their kids of just about the same age as my daughter. I thought it would be the best time for my daughter to bond with other kids. So yes, we decided to go, although I forgot some important items such as my prescription glasses.

So the question was: Is it a good idea to bring the kids to Balai Isabel?

1. There are two (sets of) pools. One is at the new wing, which is bigger but I was told that it has no kiddie pool but kids may opt to stay at the shallower part of the pools. Near this is a small playground.

2. The second set of pools have a kiddie pool, and a slide.

When we were there, there was a couple having their prenuptial pictorial at this place, just right in front of the kiddie pool (at the back of the restaurant). I bet they have awesome shots there.

Active Fun – SM North Edsa: Mommies meetup

The (MBAPs and Bebots) mommy bloggers met up again today at a place where we knew would be fun for our kids, Active Fun located at the 3rd level of SM Annex. We were invited to check out the place, and we are just so glad that they did!

I have no photo!!! Tsk tsk.

You can view some photos of the kids at Joy’s blog.

While the mommies chatted (as always), the kids were having the time of their lives jumping up and down, running here and there, swimming in the pool of balls among others.

My daughter had fun in this trampoline with Sandy who I must say is a high jumper.

She also enjoyed the slide so much. Look at this shot with Margaux.

When I took a break from taking pictures, my daughter (according to the nanny) enjoyed this.

That was surpising, I actually thought she’d be afraid of the balls “showering all over” with a loud whizzing sound.

Visit the place now. Your kid/s will surely enjoy it! Here is the current pricelist:

More photos will be uploaded to my Facebook and Flickr soon. Stay tuned. ;)
