photobooks for less

Artscow is again having a promo on their 8×8 30-paged photobooks. Until July 29th, a photobook only costs $9.99, free shipping. This made me want to finish all the photobooks I have in mind. But life has become busier than anticipated, more visits to the pedia than scheduled, more encounters with med techs and their medical equipment than we wanted. So until now, I only have 2 photobooks waiting on my cart.

Anyway, the coupon code for the 8×8 30-paged photobooks for $9.99 is 8X830P99.

I want an instax mini!

I was helping a friend on her research about motorhome repair. She’s in the US and on a hunt for a reliable service plan but for a reasonable rate. Since she is currently busy with her newly opened (mobile) business, I offered to help her in some of her pending tasks. When I did, I was surprised when she told me she would send me one lomo camera.

I’ve been planning to go lomo for years now but never had a chance to really start with the hobby. Maybe one lomo cam would get me started. But even if I don’t intend to go fully lomo, I plan on getting a Fujifilm Instax mini sometime in December as a gift to myself.

Nice, isn’t it? But I’d probably buy the plain pink one instead of the Hello Kitty.

So what is the difference between the instax mini 7s and 25?

Adding to my boot collection

Guest post written by Marie Wilkins

I’ve had a long love affair with everything fashion, but a couple of years ago I just started buying boots and got a little obsessed with them. Now I limit myself to what I buy since they’re more of a seasonal item but I’m always on the lookout for my next pair. Out of all the ones that I have though, I don’t have some that are good to wear in the snow that still look cute, so I decided that I needed a pair like that.

I did a lot of research online with my Wireless internet and found actually several pairs that were perfect for what I wanted. However, I was only going to allow myself to pick one! of them.

I went with a pair of chic winter boots that were on clearance and really cheap for what they are. They’re black with light brown fur at the top of the boots and also lace up the front. Plus they’re quilted and lined with waterproof material so I can play in the snow with my kids while wearing them.

a tiny cute house.

I am fascinated by the things I find on the web. I sometimes hop from one site to another, jumping from one topic to another. I once chanced upon this very small prefab home. It is so tiny that one can tow it and make it a trailer home. It has everything one needs, a living area, dining area, a kitchen and a bed. But I must say only one person can live comfortably in it. I wonder if this type of houses is covered by any manufactured home insurance.

The small house has that homey feel that I think a trailer van lacks. Why, one can even make it look country style, eclectic or modern. Nice!

New Year’s Eve at the Parents

GUEST POST. Written by Don Gregory

Now that I’m married with children, I’ve found that my new year’s eves have become a lot more tame. No longer am I going out with my buddies drinking all night til the early morning. Over are the days of bar and club hopping, non-stop dancing and singing or counting down the end of the year at the top of our lungs. Basically the only thing that hasn’t changed is setting the home security alarm before going over to my parents and watching the countdown on TV.

I take my wife and two kids (though with my kids being 17 and 3 years old, they never make it to midnight) and we enjoy a well cooked dinner by my mother with the rest of my brothers and sisters. We spend most of the night playing games, talking about what we did or received for Christmas and reminiscing about past new year’s. Usually it’s a hassle getting the kids out of the house, but they both love spending time with their grandparents. Even though my parents only live an hour away, I still make sure to set my home security alarm from www.SecurityChoice.com before we go since we always spend the night there anyway. One of the highlights of the night are when my nieces and nephews show off the new clothes they received on Christmas like a fashion show.

liability claim experts

This weekend, husband and I had a “massage” date. I’d say we deserve that. My shoulders and hips have been hurting for reason I am not sure of. But I must admit that’s better than my very unmanageable migraine attacks. I’m guessing either my working position is so bad or work habits are.

Speaking of hip pains, I heard some experience hip pains so severe they needed hip surgeries. But like any other surgeries, not all hip replacement surgeries are successful. Ever heard of DePuy Hip Replacement lawsuit? Some complains of pains and swelling that a second surgery is necessary, likely for a defective implant. Yeah, one of those complex liability claims. Good thing there are experts who can handle such.

backup storage

I am frustrated with some of my old DVDs. I couldn’t get some of the photos anymore that I was planning to copy to my EHD. So there, DVD isn’t much of a good backup storage. Someone suggested why not use the laptop as the backup storage. Well that is because I’m using an office laptop. I still can’t decide between desktop or a laptop for personal use. I’m currently reading computer reviews to help me search to match my needs. Actually I just need something that I can use for blogging and digiscrapping. All other features are just bonus.

Gotcha!

While reading colon cleanse reviews, I suddenly thought of blogging again. Good thing because I accidentally found the virus on my EHD!

For months now, I’ve been scanning my laptop and EHD for viruses. I remember finding EXECUSER.EXE which I successfully deleted but still both my laptop and EHD were just too hard to work with. Then today while trying to upload photos I was posting via FileZilla I found this maliscious looking folder called RECYCLER. So I googled it. And yes, it is indeed a virus. After deleting, I also checked my laptop, and there it was, another recycler folder.

Let’s see. I’ll observe next week if my laptop will still boot and load for almost an hour. Tsk tsk.

working late

While prices kept going up, including medical expenses, you hope and pray no one in the family gets sick. Ever. Since, that is almost impossible, it’s always good to have health insurance. Good thing the company where my husband and I work provides health insurance.

But for those who, like own a business may, of course, opt to buy their own health insurance. Just look for the best yet cheap insurance out there.

Sometimes I wonder why people who work in call centers have much higher medical coverage than people who work in, say, IT companies. Are people working in odd hours considered more prone to sickness? Hmm, sounds logical.

Using the web to find craft projects

This is a guest post by Veronica Miller

One of my favorite ways to use my hughesnet tennessee internet service with my kids is to search for different craft projects and recipes that we can try out together. I enjoy looking through different do it yourself projects and dessert recipes with my kids and allowing them to pick out what they would like to make or try out together.

I started this process with my oldest daughter when we were planning my youngest son’s birthday party. We logged onto our hughes net internet service together and looked for recipes and designs for his birthday cake. She picked out a type of cake and then decided on a specific design for cupcakes that she thought her brother would love. We then set out to create what we had seen on our hughes net satellite. Not only did the party turn out great, we got to spend a good deal of time together, bonding.

Looking through different kids projects together on craftsforkids.com, allowed me to see her different tastes and preferences. It’s a great way for us to spend a good deal of time together, and also gives us something to work on and complete together. Looking through the different pages of projects and craft ideas lets me see how creative she is and what type of styles she likes. It also gives me a chance to let her make decisions on her own.
